Congressman Darrell Issa of California has introduced legislation to recognize the Southern California wine industry for its significant contributions to the local and national economy. Issa made the announcement at an event in Temecula Valley, where he detailed the industry's impact on job creation, revenue generation, and regional tourism.

Issa emphasized the importance of acknowledging the resilience and prosperity of the Southern California wine industry, stating, "While Southern California wine country is world-renowned for its quality and picturesque landscapes, the industry is also a central component of the local economic landscape."

The Southern California wine industry spans across several counties, including Riverside, San Diego, Orange, San Bernardino, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura. In Riverside County alone, wineries and wine-related businesses support over 17,000 jobs and contribute more than $956 million annually to the economy.

Congressman Ken Calvert of Riverside County has joined Issa as an original co-sponsor of the resolution, further highlighting the bipartisan support for recognizing the achievements of the Southern California wine industry.
