The Office of U.S. Representative Young Kim announced the winners of the 2024 CA-40 Congressional App Challenge. Troy High School students Stanley Wang, from Chino Hills, and Jack Liu were recognized for their app "Gluconnect."

The app aims to assist individuals with diabetes by converting any standard blood-sugar meter into a Bluetooth-enabled device. This feature allows users to transmit blood data via Bluetooth, enabling them to view, manage, and share information with family members and healthcare providers.

Wang and Liu developed "Gluconnect" after hearing family members express frustration over manually inputting data from glucometers. The app seeks to address these concerns by simplifying data management.

Rep. Young Kim commented on the achievement: “Stanley and Jack’s app ‘Gluconnect’ not only demonstrates an impressive use of coding concepts but also could improve the lives of diabetes patients. They truly went above and beyond, and I’m proud to name this year’s CA-40 Congressional App Challenge winners.”

Kim further expressed her admiration for all submissions: “As always, I’m so impressed by this year’s Congressional App Challenge submissions and amazed by the caliber of talent among students in California’s 40th District.”

Congresswoman Kim serves as Co-Chair of the Women in STEM caucus and was a co-chair of the Congressional App Challenge during the 117th Congress. Since 2021, 640 students have participated in this challenge within her district, submitting a total of 293 apps.
