Following a meeting with former President Donald Trump, the SALT Caucus Co-Chairs, Congresswoman Young Kim from California's 40th district and Congressman Andrew R. Garbarino of New York's 2nd district, released a joint statement regarding their ongoing efforts to address the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction cap.

The representatives expressed concern over the financial burden that the SALT cap places on their constituents. They noted Trump's commitment to addressing this issue as a positive outcome of their discussion. "Our constituents are burdened by the SALT cap, and President Trump committed to addressing this issue for our districts," they stated.

Both co-chairs emphasized the importance of resolving this matter to allow taxpayers in their districts to retain more of their income. "We had a productive meeting tonight and will keep fighting to resolve this critical issue so our constituents can keep more of their hard-earned money," they added.

The joint statement underscores the continued advocacy by these members of Congress on behalf of those affected by the current limitations on state and local tax deductions.
