Mission Viejo Appoints Captain Jason Ivins as Chief of Police Services

MISSION VIEJO, Ca. (April 18, 2024): The city of Mission Viejo has chosen Captain Jason Ivins as their new Chief of Police Services. He will assume his new role starting Friday, April 19.

"I am looking forward to bringing my experience and diverse law enforcement background to the city of Mission Viejo to continue providing exceptional service to the community," Captain Ivins expressed.

Captain Ivins brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having joined the Sheriff’s Department in 1999. Over the years, he has served in various capacities, including being a K-9 handler and holding supervisory roles in specialized units. His most recent assignment involved leading the Behavioral Health Bureau, where he focused on collaborating with the Orange County Health Care Agency to provide resources for individuals facing homelessness or mental health challenges.

Throughout his career, Captain Ivins has demonstrated his commitment to law enforcement and community service. His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of California, Irvine, and accreditation in organizational leadership from Brandman University.

The appointment of Captain Jason Ivins as the Chief of Police Services in Mission Viejo marks a new chapter in the city's law enforcement leadership. With his extensive experience and dedication to serving the community, Captain Ivins is poised to lead the Police Services department effectively and ensure the safety and well-being of Mission Viejo residents.
