Young Kim, a representative of California’s 40th district in U.S. Congress, communicated a series of messages through her Twitter account, touching on various topics concerning economic growth, international events, and domestic policy.

On April 22, 2025, Kim thanked “ChinoValleyCC small business leaders meeting with me to share their stories and the importance of extending the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and addressing the SALT cap, so we can unleash economic growth, create jobs, and keep our communities prosperous.” Kim emphasized the role of these talks in promoting economic growth and maintaining community prosperity, stating her support for legislative measures like the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

Later the same day, Kim shared her condolences regarding an international crisis, tweeting “My heart is heavy from the horrific terrorist attack in Kashmir today that took 26 innocent lives. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families and the injured, and I pray for swift justice for the victims.” Her message expressed deep emotion and call for justice following the attack in Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives.

A subsequent post on April 23, 2025, addressed her stance on domestic policy, highlighting health care. Kim asserted, “A budget that does not protect vital Medicaid services for the most vulnerable citizens in my community will not receive my vote. I’ve made this clear to my constituents and to House leadership and will continue to do so.” Emphasizing her commitment to Medicaid, she pledged not to support any budget proposal that compromises these critical services.

Young Kim has been serving in Congress since 2021, following her predecessor Gil Cisneros, after previously serving in the California State Assembly. She was born in Incheon, South Korea, in 1962 and resides in La Habra.
