Young Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 40th district, shared updates through a series of tweets discussing legislative actions and her engagement with constituents. These tweets were posted on April 28, 2025, addressing various issues including legislative progress and community engagement.

On April 28, 2025, Young Kim announced the passage of the Hotel Fees Transparency Act in the House, stating, “GOOD NEWS: the Hotel Fees Transparency Act passed the House to prohibit unfair or misleading price advertising & require accurate price listing of short-term lodging such as hotels & inns. Americans shouldn’t be burdened by costly fees.”

Later the same day, in a more personalized message tweeted on April 28, 2025, Kim expressed gratitude towards her constituents and encouraged those visiting the nation’s capital to contact her office, as she stated, “My team loved welcoming constituents in town from CA-40 last week! Are you visiting our nation’s capital? Please reach out to our office. We’d love to show you around!”

On April 29, 2025, Kim reiterated the hardships families face due to financial burdens and celebrated the legislative progress, noting, “Deceptive fees add up and create more pain for families already struggling to make ends meet due to rising living costs. The last thing Americans need when planning a trip are costly, unexpected fees, which is why I’m glad the House passed my bill to improve cost transparency.”

Young Kim, born in 1962 in Incheon, South Korea, has served in the U.S. Congress since 2021. Having a background in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016 and holding a BBA from the University of Southern California, Kim has demonstrated a focus on transparency and constituent engagement from her office in La Habra.
