Young Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 40th district, has recently shared her perspectives on several pressing issues through social media. Her tweets reflect her ongoing legislative efforts and collaboration with fellow representatives.

On May 8, 2025, Young Kim emphasized the importance of utilizing all available resources in wildfire management. She stated, “We need all hands on deck & all the tools in our arsenal during a wildfire, & fire retardant has proven to be safe & effective for containing & mitigating wildfires.” She expressed pride in joining forces with Representatives Doug LaMalfa and Jimmy Panetta to ensure the continued use of fire retardants.

Later that day, she highlighted the significance of financial literacy as a pathway to economic independence. Kim quoted Secretary Scott Bessent, saying “Financial literacy is the only path to economic independence and well-being.” She expressed her intention to work alongside the Trump administration to promote financial literacy among Americans nationwide.

In another tweet posted on May 8, 2025, Young Kim reaffirmed her commitment as a Republican SALT Caucus Co-Chair. Alongside Representative Andrew Garbarino, she remains dedicated to achieving equitable outcomes for their constituents. She stated: “As Republican SALT Caucus Co-Chairs, @RepGarbarino and I remain committed to securing a fair deal for our constituents.”

Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra, Kim graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1985.
