Young Kim, the U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th District, has been active on social media discussing key legislative and diplomatic priorities. On April 4, 2025, she posted several updates expressing her stance on the state and national policy issues that are front and center for her and her constituents.

In her first message, Kim addressed the issue of the State and Local Tax Deduction (SALT) Cap. She criticized the $25,000 cap, stating, “A $25,000 SALT Cap does not get close to bringing relief to families unfairly burdened by the current cap.” She attached a statement co-written with fellow Republican SALT Caucus co-chair Andrew Garbarino.

Later the same day, Kim met with a diplomatic representative from New Zealand. She shared, “Honored to meet with the New Zealand Ambassador this week to discuss strengthening our bilateral relationship.” As Chairwoman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on East Asia and the Pacific, she emphasized her commitment to keeping the Indo-Pacific region free and open while advancing mutual priorities.

Lastly, Kim reiterated her dedication to her constituents and legislative work. She stated, “I’m laser focused on the issues impacting our community & finding solutions to improve the lives of the American people. My team & I are here to serve CA-40.” This message underscores her ongoing commitment to addressing local and national concerns.
