Young Kim, currently serving in the U.S. Congress as the representative for California’s 40th district, engaged her audience through a series of social media posts addressing both personal sentiments and community achievements. This interaction comes during her ongoing tenure that began after replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021.

On April 21, 2025, Kim expressed her sorrow regarding the news of Pope Francis’ passing. She stated, “I am saddened to learn about the news of Pope Francis’ passing this Easter Monday and praying for all those mourning. Rest in Peace “

Following her heartfelt message, Kim addressed fiscal matters on April 22, 2025, noting her team’s efforts to return taxpayer money. She shared, “Team Young has returned over $27 million back to taxpayers from federal agencies, and we’re just getting started delivering results for you and your family.” She encouraged constituents needing federal assistance to reach out via a shared link.

In celebration of Earth Day, Kim acknowledged the natural beauty of her district on April 22, 2025. She posted, “Happy #EarthDay! From Chino Hills State Park to the Cleveland National Forest, CA-40 is home to beautiful landscapes. Today & always, we’re reminded that it’s up to each of us to preserve our communities for the next generation.”

Kim, who was born in 1962 in Incheon, South Korea, and currently resides in La Habra, graduated from the University of Southern California in 1985 with a BBA. Her continued commitment to her constituents reflects her background as both a congresswoman since 2021 and a former California State Assembly member from 2014 to 2016.
