The Orange County Sheriff’s Department has released a Critical Incident Video related to a deputy-involved shooting that took place on August 7, 2025, in Lake Forest, California.

The video can be viewed at https://youtu.be/N5Wkj4RisGI.

According to the department, the release of such videos is intended to "foster greater public trust with the community we serve." The department stated it will publish Critical Incident Videos for events where the actions of its members may significantly impact the department, community, or individuals involved. This includes incidents involving deadly force or those resulting in serious physical injury.

Critical Incident Videos are designed to provide an overview of what happened before, during, and after a critical incident. They include relevant video footage, audio recordings, photographs, and information to help explain the circumstances. The department noted that these videos present facts as they are currently known and do not make any conclusions about whether deputies acted according to policy or law until all investigations are finished.

The investigation into this particular shooting is being conducted by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
