U.S. Representative Young Kim from California's 40th district has been honored with the 2025 FMC Statesmanship Award by the Former Members of Congress (FMC). This award recognizes her dedication to public service and her efforts to foster bipartisan cooperation.

The FMC, which has been granting this accolade for 28 years, selects one Representative and one Senator from each political party annually. Alongside Rep. Kim, other recipients of the 2025 award include Rep. Ed Case of Hawaii's first district, Senator Todd Young from Indiana, and Senator Cory Booker from New Jersey.

In response to receiving the award, Congresswoman Kim stated: “While I remain firm in my principles, I believe bipartisanship drives results and is needed now more than ever to deliver solutions for complex challenges.” She expressed gratitude towards FMC for their acknowledgment and their initiatives promoting collaboration domestically and internationally.

Pete Weichlein, CEO of Former Members of Congress, praised Rep. Kim as the Republican House Statesmanship Award Honoree for 2025. He noted that FMC has collaborated with her for nearly four years through her role as Co-Chair of the Congressional Study Group on Korea. He commended her commitment to transcending partisan politics to create practical legislation benefiting both her constituents and American citizens at large. "From her time as a Congressional staffer, to being Chair of the House Subcommittee on East Asia and the Pacific," Weichlein added, "Rep. Kim has been a leader in foreign policy and bipartisanship, and we’re grateful for her service."
