Young Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 40th district, has been active on social media addressing various issues and expressing condolences over recent events. Serving in Congress since 2021 after replacing Gil Cisneros, Kim has previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016.

On May 21, 2025, Young Kim expressed her shock at the passing of an unnamed individual. She stated, "I’m shocked to learn of his sudden passing, & my heart is with his loved ones, team, & constituents." She highlighted their collaboration on supporting human rights and countering efforts by Beijing to exclude Taiwan from international organizations. Kim emphasized her gratitude for knowing him and noted that he will be missed.

Later that day, she addressed the issue of increasing the SALT cap, stating it would provide necessary tax relief for middle-class families who face double taxation. In her post, she remarked, "Increasing the SALT cap means bringing vital tax relief for hardworking, middle-class families I represent who face double taxation." She made it clear that she intends to continue advocating for this cause until changes are implemented.

On May 22, 2025, Kim commented on an incident involving antisemitic violence targeting young Jewish professionals. She described the event as "horrific and unacceptable," adding "No one should live in fear because of their faith." Her statement conveyed sympathy towards the victims' loved ones.

Kim was born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently resides in La Habra. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1985.
