Young Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 40th district, has recently shared updates on her legislative and media engagements through social media. Serving in Congress since 2021 after replacing Gil Cisneros, Kim continues to focus on issues impacting small businesses and U.S. foreign policy.
On May 20, 2025, Young Kim expressed her concerns about current regulations affecting small businesses. She stated, "Our regulations are restricting the government from understanding the needs of small businesses. Policies should make small businesses' lives easier, not harder." She also announced her excitement over a bill she introduced to reduce bureaucratic hurdles passing out of the Financial Committee.
In another post dated May 21, 2025, Kim invited followers to watch her upcoming television appearance. She tweeted, " In the hot seat with @CongressMin We’re up soon on @FOXLA with @Elex_Michaelson — be sure to tune in!" This engagement highlights her active participation in public discussions and media interactions.
Later that day, Kim looked forward to participating in a hearing with Secretary Rubio at the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Her tweet read: "Looking forward to talking to @SecRubio at today’s @HouseForeignGOP hearing on how we can work together to ensure our U.S. foreign policy protects America’s interests." The hearing aimed at discussing strategies for aligning U.S. foreign policy with national interests.
Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and residing in La Habra, Young Kim has been actively involved in politics since serving in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. A graduate of the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree earned in 1985, she brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her role as a congresswoman.
