Young Kim, a U.S. Congress member representing California's 40th district, shared several updates on social media on May 17, 2025. Her posts covered topics ranging from expressions of gratitude to the armed forces to personal interactions and congratulatory messages for local graduates.

In a tweet posted at 13:51 UTC, Young Kim expressed her appreciation for military personnel. She stated, "Freedom is not free. Thank you to the brave men and women who have answered the call to serve in our nation’s uniform and protect our freedoms." She concluded by acknowledging their service and sacrifice with the hashtag #ArmedForcesDay.

Later that day at 16:00 UTC, Kim shared a personal moment with constituents Shannon and Gina Vander Thee from Mission Viejo. She mentioned their visit by saying, "I loved seeing Shannon and Gina Vander Thee in town from Mission Viejo – we had to grab a picture in front of the Lake Mission Viejo picture in my office before their Capitol tour!"
