Young Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 40th district, shared several updates on May 13, 2025, via social media. Her posts addressed issues ranging from maternal health to economic opportunities and small business support.

In her first post of the day, Young Kim highlighted the issue of stillbirths in the United States, noting that "too many women & families have experienced the pain & loss of stillbirth firsthand, with roughly 21,000 stillbirths occurring in the U.S. each year." She expressed gratitude towards Christina Perri for visiting and sharing her story and new book while advocating for maternal health issues. "I thank Christina Perri for stopping by last week to share her story (& new book!) & advocate on maternal health issues."

Later that day, Kim discussed economic development through statutory programs like the CDFI fund. She emphasized its role in creating economic opportunities both locally in Orange County and nationwide. During a recent Financial Committee hearing, she urged continued support from Secretary Bessent at the U.S. Treasury for this program: "The CDFI fund is statutory & creates economic opportunity in communities in Orange County & across the nation."

In another update on May 13th, Young Kim announced her leadership role in advancing bipartisan legislation aimed at improving access to information for small businesses. She stated that this bill could significantly enhance government efficiency for entrepreneurs: "I’m proud to lead the bipartisan Improving Access to Small Business Information Act."

Young Kim has been serving as a representative since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021 and previously served in California's State Assembly from 2014 to 2016.
