Young Kim, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 40th district, recently shared insights and personal reflections through her social media platform. Having replaced former U.S. Congress member Gil Cisneros in 2021, Kim continues to engage with her constituents on various issues and events.

On May 9, 2025, Young Kim highlighted the significance of Southern California's ports in relation to free trade with Indo-Pacific allies. She stated: "Southern California is home to Ports of LA & Long Beach that employ dock workers & truckers whose jobs depend on free trade with our Indo-Pacific allies & partners." Additionally, she mentioned questioning Secretary Bessent about the impact of tariffs on American small businesses and workers.

Later that day, Young Kim attended a community event organized by the Tustin Parks & Recreation Department. On this occasion, she tweeted: "The Tustin Parks & Recreation Department's Viva Tustin celebration was a fiesta! Team Young had a great time joining our community & recognizing local businesses & vendors."

On May 11, 2025, Kim took to social media to express her appreciation for mothers in her district. In a heartfelt message she wrote: "Being Mom to Christine, Kelly, Alvin, & Hannah has been a wonderful blessing & the best job in the world." She extended Mother’s Day wishes saying: "Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms & mother-figures in CA-40. You all are superheroes!"

Young Kim has served in Congress since 2021 after previously being part of the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and residing now in La Habra, she holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
