Young Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 40th district since 2021, recently shared several updates on her official Twitter account. Her tweets cover legislative initiatives and local community engagements.

On May 9, 2025, Young Kim expressed her commitment to transparency in government actions regarding tariffs. She stated: "The American people deserve certainty, which is why I’m proud to lead the REPORT Act with @RepJeffHurd to ensure the executive branch is transparent on the intended economic & security objectives behind enacting tariffs, especially in the long-term." This statement underscores her efforts alongside Representative Jeff Hurd to promote clarity in governmental economic policies.

Later that day, Kim congratulated a local business in Orange County via Twitter: "Congratulations to On Core Fitness on your one-year anniversary in Orange! They provide one-on-one training and recovery services to support fitness journeys." This message highlights her support for small businesses within her constituency.

In another tweet from May 9, she discussed healthcare priorities following a meeting with hospital executives: "I met with California hospital executives, including from @providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, to discuss our shared priority of protecting vital Medicaid services. Thank you for stopping by & for all that you do support patients!" The tweet reflects her ongoing engagement with healthcare providers to safeguard essential medical services.

Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and residing in La Habra, Young Kim has served both at the state level as a member of the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016 and at the federal level since succeeding Gil Cisneros. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Southern California.
