Young Kim, a U.S. Congress member representing California's 40th district, shared several updates on social media reflecting her engagement with various community and national topics. On May 5, 2025, Young Kim acknowledged the contributions of local entrepreneurs during #SmallBusinessWeek. She stated, "Our CA-40 entrepreneurs are the gears keeping our communities running – creating jobs, supporting our economy, and chasing their American dream." Kim expressed gratitude for their role in driving economic growth.

Later that day, she commemorated a significant event in U.S. space history. On May 5th, Young Kim tweeted about Alan Shepard's achievement as the first American to travel into space on this day in 1961. She remarked on his prior roles as a Navy aviator and test pilot before becoming one of NASA's initial astronauts. "Thank you for helping pave the way for U.S. space exploration!" she wrote.

Young Kim has served in Congress since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021 and was previously part of California’s State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and residing currently in La Habra, she holds a BBA from the University of Southern California.
