Young Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 40th District, recently attended the Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s annual Estrella Awards, according to her Twitter post on April 17, 2025. In her tweet, she shared her enthusiasm about the event, saying, "Had a ball at @OCHCC’s annual Estrella Awards to celebrate outstanding individuals who have made a lasting impact in our community. I’ll always be a loud voice for our small business owners!"
On April 18, 2025, Kim also conveyed her religious sentiments during the Holy Week. She referenced a biblical passage, noting, "‘He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.’ - 1 Peter 2:24. Wishing all who are observing this Holy Week a blessed Good Friday."
The same day, Kim participated in "Financial Literacy Friday" activities, meeting with students from Santiago Charter School. She expressed her admiration for the students' engagement with financial education through the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association’s Capitol Hill Challenge. Young Kim, born in Incheon, South Korea, in 1962, has been living in La Habra, California. She has served in the U.S. Congress for California's 40th District since replacing former member Gil Cisneros in 2021. Kim had also served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1985.
