On April 3, 2025, the Orange County Sheriff's Department Special Victim’s Detail (SVD) arrested Anthony Oscar Alcala, a 28-year-old from Huntington Beach. The arrest came after allegations surfaced about Alcala maintaining sexual relationships with two underage females between 2017 and 2023.

In February 2025, SVD investigators received a report from an organization focused on reducing sexual assaults on athletes. The information led to investigators contacting the alleged victims and initiating an inquiry into the claims. Both victims accused Alcala of grooming them during his tenure as a wrestling coach at El Modena and Foothill High Schools, which eventually led to unlawful sexual relationships.

Further investigation revealed Alcala’s previous employment as a coach at a private wrestling club in Placentia, known as Premier Wrestling. Previously, the club was referred to as Somar Wrestling.

Alcala now faces multiple felony charges, including engaging in sexual intercourse with a minor, and has been booked into Orange County Jail.
