Representative Young Kim of California's 40th district recently shared a series of updates on social media, highlighting her involvement with local and national initiatives. Young Kim has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2021 after previously holding a position in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea, she moved to the United States, completed her education at the University of Southern California, and currently resides in La Habra.
On April 2, 2025, Young Kim welcomed Red Hill Lutheran Church & School students to the nation's Capitol, expressing her pleasure in meeting the group from California.
On April 3, 2025, Kim announced in a separate post that the STABLE Act had passed out of the Financial Committee. She described the legislation as a “bipartisan, commonsense bill” aimed at creating a policy framework for utilizing stablecoins, creating jobs, and advancing digital ledgers in the United States. Kim encouraged further actions to benefit the American public.
Later that day, Kim reported a productive meeting with the Western Fire Chiefs Association. In her post, she emphasized the importance of discussing fire policy critical to Californians’ safety. Kim is actively working on policies to enhance resources for wildfire prevention, improve response and coordination efforts among first responders, with the objective of protecting local communities.
