The Center for Effective Lawmaking (CEL) has announced the release of Legislative Effectiveness Scores (LES) for the 118th Congress, spanning 2023 to 2025. Rep. Young Kim, representing California's 40th district, was recognized as one of the most effective legislators, earning the eighth highest score among House Republicans and the tenth in the House of Representatives overall.

Rep. Kim achieved the highest effectiveness score among all representatives and senators from California. She stated, "Representing my community is not a job I take lightly. I am thrilled my record of effectiveness shows my commitment to getting things done. I am just getting started and remain willing to work with whoever wants to work with me to deliver results and improve the lives of the American people."

In the previous 117th Congress, Rep. Kim was noted for having the highest LES among House Republican freshmen, and she was one of ten deemed as "exceeding expectations." She has been named a Common Ground Champion and was ranked the most bipartisan freshmen by both the Lugar Center and McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University, according to Quorum Analytics data. Additionally, she received the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Legislative Action Award.
