Young Kim highlights U.S.-Japan alliance, welcomes visitors, and addresses Myanmar-Thai disaster

Young Kim, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 40th district, shared insights and personal experiences on March 28, 2025, through a series of social media posts reflecting her political engagements and constituent interactions. As a congresswoman, Kim often highlights the importance of international alliances, local community interactions, and humanitarian concerns.

On March 28, 2025, Young Kim underscored the significance of the U.S.-Japan alliance "drives innovation, deepens cultural ties, grows our economy, & strengthens global security." She expressed her enjoyment in celebrating this alliance and the beginning of the cherry blossom season with the Japan-American Society of Washington DC, which she hopes will continue to thrive.

On the same day, Kim welcomed the Rucker Family from Lake Forest, California, during their visit to her Washington D.C. office "So fun welcoming the Rucker Family from Lake Forest, CA to my DC office for their Capitol tour!" Later, Kim expressed her condolences and prayers for the people of Myanmar and Thailand following a tragic natural disaster "My heart and prayers are with the people of Myanmar and Thailand impacted by the devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake." She stressed the importance of a swift, coordinated response from the U.S. and its allies to address the crisis, noting the loss of over 140 lives and hundreds injured.
