Young Kim honored with NACHC award for support of community health centers

U.S. Representative Young Kim from California's 40th district has been awarded the Distinguished Community Health Center Advocate Award by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC). The recognition highlights her leadership in supporting community health centers and enhancing healthcare access for underserved groups.

Kim emphasized the importance of community health centers in Orange County, noting that they play a crucial role in providing quality care to local communities. "Orange County is home to over 40 community health centers that provide quality care to our communities and meet patients’ needs. CHCs are vital to the health and wellness of my constituents, and I’m proud to be their advocate in Congress," she stated. She expressed gratitude towards the Coalition of Orange County Community Health Centers for the award and reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring healthcare access.

Dani Bryant, Project Manager at the Coalition of Orange County Community Health Centers, commended Kim's dedication. "This year, we are proud to recognize Congresswoman Young Kim for her steadfast commitment to strengthening CHCs and ensuring that millions of Americans—especially those in Orange County—can continue to receive the essential healthcare services they rely on," said Bryant. He acknowledged Kim's role in securing funding and policies beneficial to community health centers, emphasizing her leadership amid challenges like threats to Medicaid funding.
