The Yorba Linda Water District has secured $6.5 million in funding through the Water Resources Development Act of 2024 for the construction of Well 24, a project aimed at providing a new and affordable water supply within its service area.
U.S. Representative Young Kim (CA-40) played a significant role in advocating for this project, having voted in favor of both the House version of the bill in July 2024 and the final bill in December 2024. "Delivering for our community is my top priority as your representative," said Rep. Young Kim. "I’m thrilled to have been able to work with YLWD as well as Senators Padilla and Schiff to get this important project through the finish line that will provide a new, affordable water supply to Orange County residents. I’ll always be a loud voice for our community and work to ensure a safe, reliable water supply."
YLWD Board President Thomas Lindsey expressed his support for the development: “This funding represents a significant step forward in our commitment to providing high-quality, reliable water services to our community.” General Manager Mark Toy also acknowledged the importance of elected officials' backing, stating, “We are grateful for the support of our elected officials and look forward to utilizing these resources to enhance our water infrastructure.”
