On Saturday, January 25, 2025, deputies responded to an assault report in the 32000 block of Valle Rd. in San Juan Capistrano. Upon arrival, they found a woman in her 50s with multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced deceased at the scene and was identified as a relative of the suspect.

The Orange County Sheriff's Homicide investigators launched an investigation into the incident. Following interviews and evidence collection, Josephe Jimenez Hernandez, 25, from San Juan Capistrano, was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail on suspicion of murder.
