U.S. Representative Young Kim has officially commenced her third term in the House of Representatives, representing California's 40th District. The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by Speaker of the House Mike Johnson in Washington, D.C.
Rep. Kim expressed her dedication to serving her district and addressing national issues. "I am humbled to be able to serve California’s 40th District in Congress," she stated. She emphasized her commitment to continue working on behalf of her constituents, saying, "There is much to do to get our country on the right track, and I look forward to getting back to work to expand on my record of effectiveness and be an independent fighter for my constituents."
Kim's tenure in Congress has been marked by a focus on bipartisanship and civil discourse. Her efforts were recognized with the 2024 Newsweek-Stubblefield Institute Civility Award.
Since joining Congress, Rep. Kim has returned over $25 million to taxpayers from federal agencies and successfully advanced more than 40 bills through the House, with 17 bipartisan bills being signed into law. Additionally, she has assisted over 5,600 constituents with casework and actively participated in numerous public events.
Rep. Kim also took time during her previous terms to honor veterans from the Vietnam era and their spouses for their service.
