On December 20, 2024, a shooting incident occurred in Stanton, California. Deputies were called to the area of Orangewood Avenue and Court Street at around 4:19 p.m. following reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, authorities found an adult male with a gunshot wound inside a vehicle on Court Street. The victim, identified as Jonathan Alexis Jimenez, 18, from Stanton, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A second adult male present in the same vehicle received treatment at the scene for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Several individuals were detained at the scene as the investigation continues under the Sheriff's Homicide and Gang Enforcement Team (GET).
