Young Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 40th district, shared her thoughts and reflections through a series of tweets on November 16 and 17, 2024. Her messages highlighted themes of opportunity, service, and community engagement.

On November 16, Young Kim expressed her commitment to ensuring equal opportunities for all Americans by stating: "One's background should not determine one's ability to succeed. In Congress, I’ll keep working on policies that give all Americans the opportunity to make their American dream a reality."

In another tweet posted on November 17, Kim reflected on her role in Congress as one of the first Korean American women serving in this capacity two centuries after Congress first convened at the U.S. Capitol. She remarked: "Congress met in the U.S. Capitol for the first time #OTD in 1800. To be able to serve my community in Congress as one of the first Korean American women to serve two centuries later is not something I take lightly. I'm fighting every day to protect the American dream!"

Also on November 17, she encouraged outdoor activities in her district by celebrating National Take a Hike Day with a nod to local natural attractions: "Today is National Take a Hike Day! #CA40 is home to many state and regional parks, nature preserves, and @ClevelandNF with beautiful trails to explore. Get out there and hit the trails!"
