U.S. Representative Young Kim of California's 40th district has been honored with the Advocate for American Business Award by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The award acknowledges her leadership and voting record in support of small businesses during the 118th Congress.

Rep. Kim expressed her gratitude, stating, "Our CA-40 small businesses are bearing the brunt of higher prices, workforce challenges, and organized retail crime. Policies from Congress should make their lives easier, not harder." She further added, "I thank the U.S. Chamber for recognizing my advocacy for small businesses, and I will keep working to support hardworking entrepreneurs running our economies and living their American dream."

Jennings Imel, Western Region Vice President at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, commended Rep. Kim's efforts: “The U.S. Chamber is pleased to recognize Congresswoman Young Kim with our Advocate for American Business award.” He highlighted her support for pro-growth policies that benefit Orange County businesses and families.

Throughout her tenure, Rep. Kim has championed several initiatives aimed at aiding small businesses:

- She led the bipartisan Improving Federal Investigations of Organized Retail Crime Act to enhance information sharing between federal and local law enforcement.

- She co-introduced the Financial Inclusion in Banking Act to expand financial opportunities for underserved communities.

- During the COVID-19 pandemic, she helped lead the PPP Extension Act to provide additional time for small businesses to access Paycheck Protection Program loans.

- Her efforts include leading the Small Business Administration (SBA) Cyber Awareness Act to protect against cyberattacks.

- She introduced legislation such as the Reviewing the Expansion of Government (REG) Act and Small Dollar Loan Certainty Act to safeguard business interests.

- Rep. Kim also supported bills like SCORE for Small Business Act of 2022 and Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act.

These legislative actions underscore her commitment to fostering a supportive environment for entrepreneurs in her district.
