This week, Congressman Darrell Issa and Congressman Ken Calvert hosted a Southern California Law Enforcement Roundtable in Murrieta, California. The event also featured Riverside County Assistant District Attorney John Aki.
"Fundamentally, citizens have the right not to be a victim of crime," stated Congressman Issa. He emphasized the importance of public safety and commended Riverside County for its efforts in combating crime to ensure community safety.
The roundtable discussion centered on regional law enforcement priorities and challenges faced by police, sheriffs, and public safety officials in maintaining peace. Congressman Issa addressed questions about his legislative initiatives targeting retail crime, Sexually Violent Predators, and the fentanyl crisis. He also discussed concerns regarding open border policies under the Biden-Harris Administration and referenced a Judiciary Committee Field Hearing he chaired recently in Santee, California.
Issa expressed gratitude towards Rep. Calvert and Assistant DA Aki for their dedication to fighting crime and supporting law enforcement personnel.
