Stanton, California - In a recent announcement, the city of Stanton has appointed Captain Ryan Pierce as their new Chief of Police Services. Captain Pierce expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for the opportunity, stating, “I am humbled to join the exceptional team of dedicated personnel who serve the city of Stanton. I look forward to returning to the city and bringing the experience I’ve gained in my 25 years with the department.”
Captain Pierce's career in law enforcement began in 1999 when he joined the Sheriff’s Department. Throughout his tenure, he has held various roles, including serving as a deputy in Custody and Patrol Operations, working in North Patrol, and specifically serving the city of Stanton.
Over the years, Captain Pierce has accumulated a wealth of experience, working in different capacities such as a Recruit Training Officer at the Orange County Sheriff’s Regional Training Academy and being part of specialized units like the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team and the Tactical Apprehension Team (TAT), where he conducted undercover and counter-surveillance operations.
His dedication and hard work were recognized, leading to promotions within the department. In 2014, Captain Pierce was promoted to sergeant and subsequently took on roles such as Custody Operations Sergeant and Range Sergeant. In 2018, he further advanced to the position of lieutenant, serving as the Watch Commander and Administrative Lieutenant for the Theo Lacy Facility before becoming the Department Commander in 2020.
Most recently, Captain Pierce held the position of Academy Commander, where he oversaw the daily operations of the Orange County Sheriff’s Regional Training Academy, showcasing his leadership skills and commitment to training the next generation of law enforcement professionals.
Captain Pierce is set to commence his new role as Chief of Police Services for Stanton on Friday, April 19. The city anticipates his leadership and experience will contribute to the continued safety and security of Stanton residents.
