Washington, DC – U.S. Representative Young Kim (CA-40) was honored today with the Distinguished Community Health Center Advocate Award by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) for her dedicated efforts in supporting Southern California community health centers.
In her acceptance of the award, Rep. Young Kim expressed her commitment to the community health centers in her district, stating, "Orange County is home to nearly 30 community health centers that provide quality care to our communities and meet patients’ needs. Community health centers are vital to the health and wellness of my constituents, and I’m proud to be their advocate in Congress."
Isabel Becerra, President and CEO of the Coalition of Orange County Community Health Centers, also commended Rep. Kim for her ongoing support, saying, "We are grateful for Congresswoman Young Kim for making time to meet with a delegation of Community Health Centers located in the 40th District and the Coalition of Orange County Community Health Centers as part of the 2024 NACHC Policy and Issue Forum Hill Visits Days."
Becerra further highlighted the significance of Rep. Kim's advocacy, especially in relation to funding extensions for Community Health Centers and primary care workforce programs, as the funding expiration date approaches on March 8, 2024. The Coalition of Orange County Community Health Centers looks forward to continuing collaboration with Rep. Kim in ensuring access to quality healthcare for all.
