Shooting incident in Anaheim leaves security guard dead; suspect still at large

On June 22, 2025, a shooting occurred in unincorporated Anaheim outside the establishment 99 Bottles & Cocktails. Deputies responded to a call at approximately 12:57 a.m. on the 8000 block of Katella Ave., where they found Salvador Ramirez, a 48-year-old security guard from Fountain Valley, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Ramirez was transported to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries the following evening.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic adult who fled the scene on foot. The Orange County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are seeking assistance from the community in gathering information that could help identify and locate the suspect.
