Deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded to a domestic incident on Saturday, February 14, 2026, shortly after 6:30 a.m. in the 26000 block of Laurelwood Lane in San Juan Capistrano.
Upon arrival, deputies found a woman in her 60s deceased from apparent stab wounds in the garage. The suspect, a man also in his 60s, was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities stated that after he is released from medical care, he will be booked into jail on suspicion of homicide. The victim and suspect are believed to be estranged spouses who both lived at the residence.
The department said, “The victim’s identity will be released following official identification by the Coroner Division. The suspect’s identity will be released after he has been booked into Orange County Jail.”
The investigation is being handled by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Detail.
