A deputy-involved shooting took place in Laguna Hills on the morning of May 10, 2025. Deputies responded to a disturbance call at 8:03 a.m. near Ridge Route Drive and Moulton Parkway after multiple reports of a male subject carrying two knives.

Upon arrival, a deputy encountered the armed individual. The situation escalated when the subject advanced towards the deputy with a knife, resulting in the shooting.

The injured male received medical assistance at the scene before being transported to a local hospital. He is currently in critical condition.

Authorities confirmed that no other suspects were involved in this incident, and no deputies sustained injuries during the confrontation.
