The NJIT Highlanders, featuring former Laguna Beach High School standout Becker Sybirski, were defeated 7-4 by the Niagara Purple Eagles in their NCAA Division I baseball game Saturday, March 14, at noon.
Yogi Berra Stadium hosted the teams for their second meeting this season. The Highlanders also dropped Friday’s contest to the Purple Eagles, losing 6-3.
Sybirski pitched two innings, giving up one earned run while striking out one and walking three.
The Highlanders are set to face the Niagara Purple Eagles again Sunday, March 15, at 12 p.m. at Yogi Berra Stadium.
